Absa Capital PE is an active manager which follows a generalist industry approach to invest in established companies in growth sectors of the economy across sub-Saharan Africa, with specific emphasis on South Africa. The firm seeks to invest ZAR 0.3-1.5 billion in businesses with strong cash flows, a high degree of operational leverage and a proven management team. They generally take controlling or significant minority stakes in their investee companies, as well as board representation, partnering with management to add value. Absa Capital PE identifies value generation strategies and the planned exit route before an acquisition is concluded and monitors medium- to long-term strategic growth initiatives, aiming to exit when the value of their investment is maximized.

Rockwood invests in companies located in South Africa. The firm targets companies operating across a broad range of sectors. They do not invest in agriculture, property, armaments, tobacco and mining. It provides financing for MBOs, LBOs including expansion, growth and replacement capital. They seek controlling or significant minority positions in investee companies, as well as board representation. It invests R300 million to R1 billion with a preferred investment size of R750 million.
