Andrew John Tunks

Mr. Andrew J.
Tunks is Head of Money Markets, Currency & Risk Oversight at Aberdeen Asset Investments Ltd.
He joined Aberdeen Asset Investments (formerly SWIP) in November 2009 as an Interim Director of Fixed Income with responsibility for overseeing the Fixed Income aspects of the asset transfer from Insight to SWIP, which saw the migration of £20 billion of fixed income assets.
He was appointed as Investment Director in July 2010 to oversee operational efficiency, money market funds and active currency management within SWIP’s Fixed Income business.
He began his Fund Management career in 1987 as a Graduate Trainee at Royal Insurance.
He was placed in the Fixed Interest department in 1989 and began learning credit markets as an Analyst before being appointed Head of Credit in 1992 and latterly Head of Global Bonds and Treasury in 1995.
After the merger of Sun Alliance with Royal Insurance, he became the Head of UK Bonds and in 1999 was made Managing Director, Worldwide Bonds and Treasury.
He retained this role when the Investment Company was sold to Friends Provident in 2002 to form ISIS Asset Management.
He joined Old Mutual Asset Management in 2005 as Head of Fixed Income after ISIS's takeover of F&C.
He holds a BSc (Hons) Management Science.
He is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UK branch of CFA) and an Affiliate of the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
