Scient, Inc. has no business operations. It was a business and technology consultancy that helped companies use the power of emerging technologies and advanced business strategy to build stronger, more profitable relationships with their customers, employees and business partners. The Company helped businesses identify how the Internet can be used to their competitive advantage and provided expertise in creative design and systems engineering to design, develop and deploy advanced Internet applications and solutions. Scient was the result of the business combination of iXL Enterprises, Inc. and Scient Corporation on November 7, 2001. In July 2002, the Company filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. Also in July 2002, certain of its assets were acquired by SBI and Company, a professional services firm, and, as a result, Scient ceased operations as a separate entity.
