Midland Capital Holdings Corporation (Midland Capital) is a holding company of the Midland Federal Savings and Loan Association (Midland Federal). Midland Federal is engaged in providing personal financial services and home mortgage loans to communities located within the southwest side of the city of Chicago. The Company’s principal sources of funds are deposits, loan and mortgage-backed securities repayments, proceeds from the maturities of investment securities, and other funds provided by operations. The Company focuses on deposits from the general public and uses such deposits to originate residential mortgage loans, and to a lesser extent, consumer, multi-family and other loans in its primary market area. The Company also makes investments in investment securities and money market mutual funds, consisting primarily of short to intermediate-term United States government and agency obligations and to a lesser extent in other securities to manage interest rate risk.
