Mel Invest Holding AD Sofia is a Bulgaria-based holding company that is principally engaged in the acquisition, appraisal and managing of shares, bonds, as well as the cession of licenses for patents. It also specializes in the restructuring and management of its subsidiaries, the establishment of new subsidiaries, as well as the investment in and financing of other enterprises, in which Mel Invest Holding AD is a shareholder. It invests mainly in mills and companies that specialize in the production of bread, flour, bakery products and cereals, as well as in companies, that are involved in the meat processing and the production and distribution of meat products. It has four subsidiaries: S.Detsolova baza Pleven OOD (65%), E.Markova baza Svishtov OOD (65%), V.Lefterov baza Ruse (65%), and Hleboproizvodstvo AD (55%); 12 affiliated companies and minority interest in 13 other companies. As of December 31, 2011, the Company’s major shareholder was Pivo Invest AD with a stake of 21.95%.
