Eiger Biopharmaceuticals LLC is a United States-based commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company. Its HDV platform includes lonafarnib, an oral farnesylation inhibitor that targets a critical host process involved in viral replication. Its clinical product candidates include Lonafarnib (LNF) for HDV, Peginterferon Lambda (lambda) for HDV, Combination Therapy for HDV, and Peginterferon Lambda (lambda) for COVID-19. LNF is an orally bioavailable, farnesylation inhibitor that has completed a Phase 3 clinical trial for HDV infection. LNF has demonstrated dose-dependent activity in reducing HDV viral load both as a monotherapy and in combination with ritonavir (RTV) and/or PEG IFN-alfa-2a. Lambda is a type III, well-tolerated interferon (IFN), that stimulates immune responses that are critical for the development of host protection during viral infections.
