During the production of sponge iron, a solid waste is produced as a by-product called dolochar, which is used in power generation. Its manufacturing facility is located in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, spans over 63 acres, and features two rotary kilns with a combined annual capacity of approximately 72,000 metric tons (MT) for production of sponge iron.
