Baxter Group Limited is engaged primarily in the provision of waste management services in the areas of putrescible and inert waste, from its three sites located in South Eastern Metropolitan Melbourne and a fourth site in Lysterfield. On March 1, 2006, the Company commenced recycling and recovery operations, management of council contracts and additional bin hire sales. The Company's operations are organized into five segments: waste management, bin hire, sand and soil, recycling, and others. In December 2005, the Company acquired Latrobe Valley Recyclers and Murray Valley Recyclers, businesses that conduct recycling and recovery operations. These businesses also have municipal contracts and operate public weighbridges. In January 2006, Baxter Group Limited acquired Lysterfield Transfer Station.
