International Informatization Academy (IIA), founded in 1990 and headquartered in Montreal, is an independent, voluntary scientific and non-governmental organization with general consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It operates through over 600 branches and offices in key cities worldwide, organized in a decentralized, self-governing structure. The non-profit company is located in Canada. The academy’s mission focuses on fostering international cooperation in informatization, information technology, and communication to address challenges in ecology, economy, education, health, culture, and human rights. IIA provides a range of information, consulting, and project management services to governments, organizations, corporations, and individuals. Its activities include promoting cultural and economic relations, facilitating international projects, introducing western corporations to eastern markets, supporting financial and investment programs, and advancing science, education, medicine, and charitable work. The academy also supports postgraduate education and professional development, confers academic degrees and honors, and promotes the work of its members across various disciplines. It contributes expertise to United Nations programs and priorities, engages in international conferences and collaborations, and serves as a technical advisor to governments and UN bodies.
