Sergey Ivanovich Shmatko held various director and chairman positions in different companies such as Transneft PJSC, Federal Grid Co. ROSSETI PJSC, Federal Hydro-Generating Co. RusHydro PJSC, ROSSETI PJSC, System Operator of the Unified Energy System of Russia, Scientific & Technical Council of The United Energy System, Gazprom PJSC, Zarubezhneft JSC, Rosneftegaz JSC, Atomic Energy Power Corp., Inter RAO UES PJSC, Unified Energy Systems of Russia OAO, and BDO Binder AG.
He also served as an independent director in Transneft PJSC and as an auditor in BDO Binder AG.
Before his career in the corporate world, he worked as the Head-External Relations Department in Russian Regional Development Bank OAO and as the Head-Analytical Center Economic Strategy in Concern Rosenergoatom JSC.
Shmatko earned his undergraduate degrees from Ural State University and Philipps University of Marburg.
