Prior to joining Seasongood Asset Management, Mr. Nelson served as a portfolio manager for Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc., a Cincinnati-based investment advisory firm with $20 billion in assets under management.
An expert in cash management strategies, Mr. Nelson was responsible for managing the firm's $1.5 billion in short-intermediate duration fixed income accounts and mutual funds.
Mr. Nelson also served as a short-term credit analyst, specializing in the analysis of commercial paper issues and letter of credit providers.
A native of Ashland, Kentucky, Mr. Nelson graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Accounting.
He continued his education at Xavier University in Cincinnati where he received a MBA in Finance.
Mr. Nelson has earned the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.
He is a General Securities Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative.
Mr. Nelson is a frequent speaker at many industry conferences and seminars including the Ohio Association of School Business Officials, Kentucky Association of County Treasurers and Finance Officers, and the Center for Public Investment Management.
Mr. Nelson is a member of the Cincinnati Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research.
Active in the community, Mr. Nelson is Treasurer of the Mt.
Lookout Civic Club, a civic organization devoted to enhancing community life.
He is also a consultant for the Junior Achievement of Cincinnati working with 7th and 8th grade students.
He is past president of the Queen City Municipal Bond Club and continues to remain active in the organization.
In recent years, he has volunteered in the Encore Program for the Big Brother/Big Sister Organization.
