Royal Carson, III is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carson Private Capital.
Royal began his career in the energy sector in 1975, and in 1977 founded Carson Petroleum Corporation, a mid-sized oil and gas operator focused on acquiring proven oil and gas reserves with extensive development potential, which was sold to Devon Energy in 1982.
Royal founded or co-founded two other successful energy businesses that were sold prior to founding Carson Private Capital.
Royal previously served as an independent director of Media General (NYSE: MEG), a Trustee of the University of San Diego, and on the boards of directors of several corporations, educational, and non-profit civic organizations.
