Caret is currently the Director of the CollegeBound Foundation, Director of the Governor's Workforce Investment Board, Director of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, Director of The University of Maryland Foundation, Inc., Director of The New England Council, Inc., President of the University of Massachusetts, and Member-Governors Board of the American Flag Foundation, Inc. He previously served as Director of First Mariner Bancorp, Director of Franklin Square Hospital Center, Inc., Director of First Mariner Bank, Director of Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, Director of Biohealth Innovation, Inc., Executive Vice President of Towson University, and President of San Jose State University.
He was also a Member-Governors Board of the Center Club of Baltimore.
Caret received his undergraduate degree from Suffolk University and his doctorate from the University of New Hampshire in 1974.
