Stone Toro Investment Advisers LP
Stone Toro Investment Advisers LP Investment ManagersFinance Stone Toro Investment Advisers uses a variety of methods and strategies to make investment decisions and recommendations. These methods include fundamental, technical, quantitative, qualitative, charting, and cyclical analyses to determine the intrinsic value of securities and other types of instruments. For their private funds, the firm utilizes a variety of investment strategies and has broad discretion in making investments for the funds. The primary investment objective of the funds is capital appreciation. In seeking to meet the funds' objectives, Stone Toro may use any investment strategy, long or short, in the global and domestic marketplace that they believe will enhance overall performance. Except as may be described in the funds offering materials, there are no restrictions on the securities or other financial instruments that may be used by the funds. Stone Toro employs quantitative, technical, and fundamental analysis to identify attractive investment opportunities for establishing long positions in the funds, and to identify securities they believe are overvalued by the market in which the funds may establish short positions. The equity securities the funds may invest in include common stock, preferred stock, depository receipts and securities convertible into common stock, such as warrants, rights, convertible bonds, debentures and convertible preferred stocks. The funds may also invest in debt securities and any other securities Stone Toro deems appropriate. At times, the funds may hold their assets for temporary or defensive purposes in cash and cash equivalents and may purchase or sell equity securities for hedging purposes. In addition, the funds may use derivatives including listed and over-the-counter options, forward contracts on securities and currency, options on securities indices, and index and equity swaps. The funds may lend the funds portfolio securities held long. The funds may also employ leverage in the forms of trading on margin and entering into other forms of direct or indirect borrowings including reverse purchase agreements and the proceeds from short sales. The funds may use limited leverage but may, at times, be leveraged on the long side as much as 3 to 1. Stone Toro Investment Advisors manages the ST Alpha Event Fund and the ST Alpha Tech Fund. The ST Alpha Event Fund is an absolute return fund that has a low expected correlation to the global equity markets. The Fund employs a global multi-strategy approach to event-driven arbitrage. It seeks to create alpha by identifying persistent arbitrage opportunities caused by market structural imperfections and investor behavior. The Fund focuses on short-term, high-information events with defined catalysts. Strategies of ST Alpha Event Fund include: index changes, structural changes, merger arbitrage and relative value pairs. The ST Alpha Tech Fund LP is an absolute return, relative-value, long/short equity hedge fund. The Fund invests primarily in small-cap and mid-cap US equities in the technology sector. The Fund employs a mean-reversion strategy that trades on information and valuation inefficiencies in the small- cap and mid-cap markets. The Fund seeks to generate significant alpha and reduce volatility while employing limited leverage. It invests in highly-liquid securities. The Fund is invested in positions sized to be less than one days trading volume. | Chief Executive Officer | - |
