Man Fai Chan

Mr. Man Fai Chan is a Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at Star Properties Group (Cayman Islands) Ltd. and a Founder & Chief Investment Officer at Galaxy Asset Management (H.K.) Ltd. He formed his own investment company, Galaxy, in 1998.
Mr. Chan has over 31 years of advisory and trading experience at leading financial institutions.
His career started in 1982 when he joined Bankers Trust as a foreign exchange trader in Hong Kong.
He was posted to New York where he was a trader of fixed income and money market instruments from 1985 to 1988.
He joined Morgan Stanley in 1988 and his initial assignments were in London and Paris where he became the head of ECU and French bond trading.
Mr. Chan was appointed as managing director of Morgan Stanley in 1993 and served on the Board of Advisors to the Morgan Stanley Fixed Income Fund.
In 1995, Mr. Chan was reassigned to Morgan Stanley’s Hong Kong office where he headed non-Japan Asia equities trading and risk management.
He left Morgan Stanley in 1996.
Mr. Chan received his Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) majoring in Management Studies and Economics from the University of Hong Kong and his M.B.A. from Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.
