Mr. Paulak is a managing vice president in Gartner Research, where he leads the Network Services team.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Mr. Paulak's research focuses on North American telecommunications services, with a special concentration on next-generation and value-added service, including voice and data convergence, IP VPNs and professional network services.
Prior to joining Gartner in 1995, Mr. Paulak worked at the Center for Communications Management Information (CCMI), where he headed its telecommunications publishing and online services division.
He previously wrote a weekly column in Network World Magazine on telecom regulatory issues.
He has also worked as a journalist, consultant and telecom manager.
Mr. Paulak earned two bachelor's degrees, in journalism and political science, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
