Edmund Jackson

Dr. Edmund Jackson is an Operating Partner at Whistler Capital providing services to Whistler Labs LLC, an affiliate of Whistler Capital that employs members of the portfolio operations group.
Edmund’s focus is the implementation of data analytics and AI at Whistler Capital’s portfolio companies to improve the quality and effectiveness of healthcare.
In this role, Edmund not only applies data techniques to support the identification of potential investments but also works actively with portfolio companies to create and execute their data and AI strategies to drive better access, experience and cost.
Edmund is the founder and CEO of UnityAI, Inc., a healthcare AI company that seeks to drive performance and optimize hospital operations.
Prior to founding UnityAI, Edmund served as the Chief Data Scientist of HCA Healthcare (“HCA”), a role in which he worked for eight years applying data science to the challenges of operating healthcare facilities at a large public healthcare company.
While at HCA, Edmund's teams created many data science products which were broadly applied generating significant financial and operational efficiencies.
Prior to HCA, Edmund started a data science consulting company and worked as a quantitative manager at a hedge fund in London.
Edmund holds a B.Sc.
(summa cum laude) and an M.Sc.
(cum laude) from the University of Natal in South Africa, and a Ph.D.
from the University of Cambridge in England where his doctoral research focused on the creation and application of advanced statistical techniques in medical research.
