Columbia Partners primarily manages growth equities in large-, small- to mid- and small market cap categories. They also manage core equities in the large- and small-cap categories. The firm manages fixed income securities in core and intermediate strategies, with an emphasis on quality. Columbia Partners' equity strategies and fixed income strategies generally rely on the purchase and sale of securities managed within general parameters consistent with each underlying strategy. Several of the strategies are growth oriented; several are core strategies, which blend growth and value approaches. In a limited number of separate client accounts, they augment the purchase and sale of securities with the use of options and short sales with the objective of reducing the variability, both up and down, of those accounts.

CCTC seeks to generate attractive returns relative to appropriate benchmarks over a full market and business cycle. The firm employs conventional methods of selecting securities including fundamental research, technical analysis and cyclical timing. They do not focus on the typical categorizations of value/growth, small/mid/large capitalization, and domestic/international. Instead, CCTC diversifies portfolios by concentrating on sectors and their underlying industries.
