Agoura Technologies, Inc.
Agoura Technologies, Inc. Miscellaneous Commercial ServicesCommercial Services Agoura was founded to help solve the rapidly growing power consumption problem of all LCD displays. LCD displays are ubiquitous in its lives and are becoming larger in virtually every application. With this size increase, comes increased power consumption. All of the major industrial economies are taking measures to regulate TV energy consumption, with an eye towards improving the energy efficiency of TV's. In the United States, both the EPA, with their Energy Star program, and the California Energy Commission are introducing regulation to drive greater LCD TV efficiency in the United States. The company has innovated an ability to manufacture a reflective, light recycling, polarizer on polymer film. The company's PolarBrite polarizer technology reclaims and recycles lost light and enables polarization with 75% efficiency instead of 50% efficiency. This 50% efficiency improvement results in a significant energy savings and enables a 30% energy savings in every LCD display. The PolarBrite technology will be offered at the same price as the current energy absorptive polarizer and will thus enable overall cost savings with lower lighting costs and power supplies. In addition, the PolarBrite technology offers a better viewing angle, offering a further improvement in one of the well noted shortcomings of LCDs. It will enable the LCD industry to make a big step forward in energy efficiency, improved margins, and improved performance. | Director/Board Member | - |
