Empresa Distribuidora Electrica Regional SA (EMDERSA) is an Argentina-based holding company engaged, through its subsidiaries, in the generation, distribution and transmission of electric power. The Company operates a network of high, medium and low-voltage transmission lines, as well as hydroelectric and thermal generation plants. As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned such subsidiaries as Empresa Distribuidora San Luis SA (EDESAL), Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad de La Rioja SA (EDELAR), Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad de Salta SA (EDESA), Empresa de Sistemas Electricos Dispersos SA (ESED) and EMDERSA Generacion Salta SA (EGSSA). As of December 31, 2011, EMDERSA Holding SA was the Company’s majority shareholder with 53.77% of its interest. On November 16, 2012, the Company completed the divestment of EDESAL, EDESA, ESED and EGGSA.
