Walmart is rolling out a new look for its brand starting in January.
The updated branding is meant to highlight the retailer's history as well as its push to modernize using technology, Walmart said Monday.
The brand began rolling out in October, and it will appear on the website and app starting in January.
Walmart highlighted technology in its announcement about the new brand, featuring a package-delivering drone and calling itself "people-led, tech-powered." In October, the retailer unveiled its plan to start using artificial intelligence to make its store more personalized and convenient to shoppers.
A Walmart spokesperson declined to say how much money the company will invest in the initiative, and how many stores will be redesigned.
