The notice of industrial action for cabin crew has now been called off. This follows an agreement between Transport and the Swedish Aviation Industry.
The reason for the notice was that Transport's demands for improved working conditions for cabin crew, as well as how the local negotiation process would work at each airline, were not met by the employers.
"The agreement involves changes that employers have not made in decades. We have now reached a historic agreement that I am proud to stand behind. The agreement means improved conditions for cabin crew," says Tommy Wreeth, Transport union president.
The preliminary agreement has been signed and will enter into force on May 1, provided that local negotiations are completed at each airline by June 18 at the latest.
"In the preliminary central agreement, which applies to all airlines in Sweden covered by the Cabin Agreement, Transport has secured clear improvements. A maximum flight time of 47.5 hours per rolling 7-day period is being introduced in the central agreement. Industry experience can now be credited when changing airlines, which was not previously possible. In connection with the agreement, the notified industrial action has been withdrawn," the statement said.
