Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NasdaqGS:TTWO)'s reported plans to shut down studios such as Intercept Games and Roll7 are part of a bigger move by the game maker to either sell off or entirely shutter its indie label, Private Division, IGN's Rebekah Valentine reports. Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick told IGN earlier in May that the company "didn't shutter" Intercept and Roll7, though multiple anonymous sources told IGN that Intercept will close on June 28, while Roll7 is similarly winding down. Meanwhile, Take-Two wants to rid itself of Private Division one way or another, the author notes.
