Audiobook specialist Storytel has acquired the full rights to the children's characters Sune and Bert, as well as their respective universes, which also include Håkan Bråkan, all created by the author duo Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson. This is stated in a press release.

Storytel now owns the rights to further develop the series in all formats, which has sold over 10 million books and 5 million movie tickets.

As part of the acquisition, Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson will continue to write new stories for Storytel, with the goal of releasing approximately three to five new titles each year.

The purchase price will be paid in full in cash, with the majority paid at closing and the remainder distributed over the next five years. The purchase price will be paid from existing cash, without the need for external financing.
