(Alliance News) - Rumors continue but without official confirmation: Antonio Filosa could become the new CEO of Stellantis, replacing Carlos Tavares.

According to Bloomberg, the board of directors, chaired by John Elkann, will decide by the end of June. Other candidates include Mike Manley, formerly of FCA, and José Munoz of Hyundai.

Filosa, 50, from Naples, has been with Fiat since 1999. Highly regarded by Sergio Marchionne, he led the Brazilian market and is now Chief Operating Officer for the Americas. Previously, he was CEO of Jeep, a leading brand in Brazil and strategic in the US, with over one million registrations in 2024.

North America remains crucial for Stellantis, which saw revenues fall by 27% in 2024, with operating margins down from 15.4% to 4.2%.
