SSAB has started local deliveries from Hämeenlinna with electric trucks
This is part of SSAB Europe and Kuljettava's joint project to electrify heavy industrial transportation. SSAB in Hämeenlinna has installed charging stations for heavy vehicles and Kuljettava has invested in two all-electric trailer combinations from Scania.
The first trailer combination started delivering steel to SSAB customers on 9 January within a radius of up to 100 kilometers from the town.
"It is great that the first electric truck transports to Finnish customers from Hämeenlinna have now started. This supports our own goals to reduce emissions from transportation and meets customer requests. Customers have long been interested in lower emission transportation and now we can meet the demand", says Lotta Ruottinen, Sales Manager for Finland and the Baltics at SSAB Europe.
