Veolia and Solvay have announced that their joint subsidiary Resolest has inaugurated a new treatment unit at the Rosières-aux-Salines site (Meurthe-et-Moselle).

This expansion will increase the annual capacity for recycling industrial flue gas treatment residues by 50%.

For over 20 years, the site has been extracting salt from these residues, after using sodium bicarbonate, to produce purified brine for the production of sodium carbonate at the Solvay plant in Dombasle.

Veolia added that this initiative aims to create new resources and strengthen the region's industrial competitiveness.
