June 10 (Reuters) - Solar inverter maker SolarEdge Technologies on Monday named Siemens Energy executive Ariel Porat as its new chief financial officer, succeeding Ronen Faier.

Faier, who informed the company's board of his desire to step down, will continue in the role for about three months until the formal appointment of Porat, SolarEdge said.

Porat, currently the head of the Europe region for Siemens Energy, had earlier served as Siemens Israel's chief executive officer and CFO. (Reporting by Vallari Srivastava in Bengaluru; Editing by Maju Samuel)
