FEILITZSCH (dpa-AFX) - The grid operator Tennet has laid the first cables for the SuedOstLink power line in the district of Hof in Upper Franconia. The route, which will run entirely as an underground cable, will be used to transport wind power from the north and east of Germany to the south from 2027, according to a spokesperson. In return, solar power from Bavaria will also be transported to the north via the SuedOstLink.
The route runs from a so-called grid connection point in Klein Rogahn near Schwerin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania via Wolmirstedt in Saxony-Anhalt to the Isar grid connection point near Landshut. The Bavarian section of the route is around 270 kilometers long. The first cables in Bavaria have now been laid in the ground near Feilitzsch. They run in cable trenches around two meters deep and cross tracks and rivers, among other things./ses/DP/mis
