Communications-services companies rose sharply as one digital streaming firm rallied.

Roku shares surged 10% after the streaming and set-top box company struck a partnership deal with Amazon.com in a bid to boost its ad sales.

A longtime NBCUniversal marketing executive is taking over as chief executive of Vice Media, aiming to build up the company's studio and advertising arms after a tumultuous few years.

Warner Bros. Discovery said creditors have lent their support to a debt deal that allows the company to separate into two public businesses. The Trump Organization said it will launch a mobile-phone service called Trump Mobile and plans to offer a U.S.-built smartphone later this summer, looking to take on the likes of Apple and Samsung.
