Neoen announces that Portugal's largest solar farm, with a capacity of 272 MWp, is now fully operational. It comprises two farms, Rio Maior Solar Farm (204 MWp) and Torre Bela Solar Farm (68 MWp). Both plants are located in Azambuja, north of Lisbon.
The farm produces the equivalent of the consumption of 110,000 households. 80% of the electricity is sold to the Portuguese government through two 15-year PPAs.
With this project, Neoen's capacity in Portugal reaches 326 MWp, including Coruche, Seixal, and Foral. A pipeline of more than 600 MW is also under development.
Neoen's management says that this major project coincides with Neoen's 15th anniversary in Portugal. It now aims to transform Rio Maior into a true hub for green energy production and storage.
