Lockheed Martin announces that Greece has signed an agreement to acquire 20 F-35 Lightning II aircraft, with an option for a further 20 aircraft, as part of a U.S. Foreign Military Sale.

The contract, valued at around $4.8 billion, marks Greece's entry into the F-35 program, making it the 19th nation to join the program.

The F-35s will enhance the capabilities of the Hellenic Air Force and improve interoperability within NATO.
