Intel: former ASML boss joins the board
Meurice was CEO of ASML from 2004 to 2013, during which time the Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer's market capitalization increased fivefold.
Prior to joining ASML, Meurice worked for Dell and Intel, among others.
The chipmaker also announced that it had co-opted Steve Sanghi, the current chairman of the board and interim CEO of Microchip Technology.
Before recently taking over the helm of this semiconductor specialist, Sanghi had already headed the group from 1991 to 2021, one of the longest tenures of any executive in the sector.
During these 30 years, he managed to increase the company's stock market valuation from $10 million to some $44 billion.
