GE Vernova announces that it has received an order for five 7H-Class gas turbines for the Qurayyah power plant expansion project in Saudi Arabia, awarded by Técnicas Reunidas and Orascom Construction.
This 3GW combined cycle project, ready for the integration of a CO2 capture unit, is part of the Kingdom's goal to produce 50% of its electricity from gas by 2030.
The EPC contract was signed by a 50/50 TR-Orascom consortium. The power plant will supply a power purchase agreement signed in February 2025 by Hajr Two Electricity Co., owned by ACWA Power, Saudi Electricity Company, and Haji Abdullah Alireza & Co.
