Ericsson has won a multi-year, multi-billion dollar extension contract with India's Bharti Airtel for 4G and 5G RAN products and solutions. This is according to a press release from the Indian operator.

In mid-October, sources told Reuters that Ericsson had secured a contract with Bharti Airtel.

Under the new agreement, Ericsson will deliver centralized RAN and Open RAN-ready solutions, which will help customers with wider coverage and increased network capacity. Ericsson will also upgrade the software in the current 4G radio systems, thereby improving the customer experience, it says.
