Equinor and partners approve implementation of carbon storage project in UK

Norwegian oil giant Equinor and its partners have approved the implementation of two carbon capture and storage projects in the UK.

Together, the company has taken a final investment decision (FID) on the Tesside projects. According to Equinor, these are the first carbon storage projects in the UK.

The project is expected to start construction in mid-2025 and be operational in 2028, with partners Totalenergies and BP.
