Communications services companies rose amid optimism about holiday box office and streaming activity.

Netflix shares continued a strong 2024 run, rising by more than 5% for the week.

"Wicked" studio owner Comcast also rose slightly for the week.

Cinema chain AMC Entertainment Holdings entered into a sales and registration agreement with Goldman Sachs Group for up to 50 million shares of Class A common stock, according to an SEC filing.
