The market share of all-electric cars in Germany has fallen to twelve percent this year compared to 14.3 percent in the same period last year.

As the Federal Motor Transport Authority reported on Monday, the number of newly registered battery electric cars fell by 16 percent to just under 141,000. Volkswagen was the market leader from January to May with just under 20,000 electric cars, followed by Tesla and BMW. The most successful brand from China was MG Roewe with 6,354 vehicles. With the discontinuation of state subsidies for electric vehicles at the end of last year, demand has fallen noticeably.
