Gross income rose in the main business segments, reaching 17.45 billion euros in the 1st half of 2024, up 31% on the same period a year earlier.

From January to June, the bank added 5.6 million new customers, 67% of whom signed up via digital channels.

Operating profit exceeded the 10 billion euro mark for the first time in a six-month period (10.59 billion euros, 39% year-on-year).

The Group posted a record attributable net profit of 4.99 billion euros in H1 2024, up 29% year-on-year (37% in constant euros).

The second quarter was also the best in the bank's history, with earnings of 2.79 billion euros, up 38% year-on-year (37% in constant euros)

Earnings per share for the quarter rose at an even faster pace, reaching 0.47 euros, or 42% in current euros.

At the end of June, the fully loaded CET1 equity ratio stood at 12.75%.
