BASF: supply agreement with INOCAS in Brazil
Specifically, the agreement covers the purchase of Macaúba kernel oil (MKO) and Macaúba pulp oil (MPO).
BASF will use Macaúba kernel oil in its portfolio of personal and household care products in Brazil and Europe. Commercial pilot volumes will be available in 2025.
The pulp oil can be used in the production of bio-naphtha, which can then be transformed into polymers, solvents, detergents, lubricants, synthetic fibers, fuels and other products.
BASF also reserves the right to acquire a stake in INOCAS.
