Air France has extended until Tuesday the suspension of its flights between Paris and Beirut due to risks linked to the security situation in Lebanon, the airline announced in a press release on Saturday.

Air France, like other airlines, suspended its Paris-Beirut routes last Monday amid fears of a worsening conflict between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah.

"The resumption of operations will be subject to a new assessment of the situation on the ground", said Air France.

"The company is constantly monitoring developments in the geopolitical situation in the territories served and overflown by its aircraft in order to ensure the highest level of flight safety and security." (Written by Benoit Van Overstraeten and Bertrand Boucey)
