The Stockholm Stock Exchange turned slightly higher on Thursday. Wall Street was closed in honor of the passing of former President Jimmy Carter. The market also awaited the important US employment statistics to be presented tomorrow, Friday.

At the close, the OMXS30 index was up 0.33 percent to 2 549.58. Shares worth around SEK 14.6 billion were traded on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

The best performance among the exchange's major industrial sectors was in commodities, up 1.2 percent. At the other end of the scale, consumer durables were at the bottom, down 0.9%.

Among the leading stocks, which are included in the OMXS30 index, SBB B rose 6.6 percent while Boliden was up 3.2 percent. Kinnevik was the worst performer, down 1.3 percent, while Nibe was down 1.0 percent.

Mining company Lundin Gold increased its gold production at the Fruta del Norte mine in Ecuador in the fourth quarter, compared to the same period last year. For the full year, production was higher than the company had guided for. Production for the full year was 502,029 ounces (481,274), which was above the company's guidance of 450,000 to 500,000 ounces. The stock rose 5.6 percent.

Credit management company Intrum begins Swedish corporate reorganization, but operations continue as usual. This after the Stockholm District Court approved the company's application. The announcement that Intrum intended to carry out a reconstruction has been known since before. It is expected to be completed during the first half of 2025. The share fell 1 percent.

The engineering consultancy Sweco has signed an agreement to acquire Finnish Sipti Consulting, which specializes in design and consulting services in geotechnical and environmental engineering. Sipti Consulting had net sales of EUR 6.7 million in the fiscal year ending July 2024. The B-share rose 0.5 percent.

E-commerce company Cheffelo increased its net sales by 9.7 percent in the fourth quarter, compared to the previous year. The share rose 2.6 percent.

Investment company Kinnevik fell 1.3 percent. Updated ownership data from Holdings shows that Swedbank sold its entire holding of 3.3 million shares in Kinnevik in December.

BNP Paribas Exane has made changes to its coverage of European automotive stocks,
which, among other things, shows that the underperform recommendation remains for Volvo Cars. The share fell 6.4 percent.

Further on the analysis front, Morgan Stanley raised its recommendation for Volvo to overweight from equal weight. The share rose 0.8 percent.

Carnegie raised Atlas Copco to buy from hold. The A-share rose 0.5 percent.

Goldman Sachs lowered Evolution to neutral from buy. The share fell 1 percent.

Handelsbanken raised Vitrolife to marketperform from underperform in the long term. The share fell 1.3 percent.

DNB raised JM to hold from sell. The share rose 0.9 percent.

DNB initiated coverage of Alleima with buy. The share went up 2.8 percent.

Kepler Cheuvreux lowered Avanza to reduce from keep. The share fell 0.4 percent.
