The Stockholm Stock Exchange continued to climb on Wednesday for the sixth day in a row. Sentiment was supported by gains in global stock markets. Measurement technology company Hexagon rose sharply on the news that Björn Rosengren plans to take over the chairman's baton in 2026.

At the close, the OMXS30 index was up 0.80 percent to 2,594.38. Shares worth around SEK 18.9 billion were traded on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

The best performance among the stock exchange's major industrial sectors was technology with a rise of 5.1 percent. At the other end of the scale, energy was at the bottom with minus 0.7 percent.

Among the leading stocks, which are included in the OMXS30 index, Hexagon rose 7.9 percent while Sinch was up 3.9 percent. Astra Zeneca was the worst performer, down 3.1 percent, while SBB B was down 2.4 percent.

Hexagon's Nomination Committee proposes that the 2025 Annual General Meeting elect Björn Rosengren as new Vice Chairman of the company's Board of Directors. Until this summer, Björn Rosengren was CEO of the industrial company ABB. The intention is that Rosengren will take over the chairmanship from Ola Rollén at the 2026 AGM.

Volvo Cars' global sales increased by 5% in November, compared to the same period last year. The increase was mainly driven by Europe and the US. The share rose 4.2 percent.

Truck manufacturer Volvo increased 2.2 percent. Industry statistics from North America showed a decrease in new orders in November compared to the same month last year, but higher levels compared to October. In the same sector, Traton's shares rose 1.9%.

Pharmaceutical company Astra Zeneca has appointed Iskra Reic as head of International. She replaces Leon Wang in the post, who is also the company's head of China. Wang has been detained in China for some time. The share fell 3.1%.

Ventilation company Systemair rose 9.6 percent. The company increased its operating profit more than expected in the second quarter of the broken fiscal year. Organic sales growth was 2.6 percent. Operating profit rose to 347 million SEK from 322 million SEK, expected operating profit was 320 million SEK according to Factset.

Home improvement retailer Clas Ohlson's adjusted operating profit rose to 307 million SEK from 277 million SEK in the second quarter, August to October, of the broken financial year compared to the same quarter last year. Christmas shopping is said to have started well. The share rose 0.8 percent.

Software company Enea renews its production license agreement for the Enea OSE operating system with a leading US customer in professional mobile radio. The agreement is for three years and is worth USD 1.6 million, equivalent to SEK 17.6 million. On Wednesday, the company held a capital markets day where financial ambitions were reiterated. The share rose 2.3 percent.

On the analysis front, Barclays raised its recommendation on Epiroc to overweight from underweight. The share rose 2.6 percent.

Kepler Cheuvreux raised Besqab to buy from hold. The share fell 0.8 percent.
