The New York Stock Exchange is set to open slightly higher on Friday morning, but this performance is unlikely to be enough to prevent the week from ending with mixed results.

Half an hour before the opening, the Dow Jones futures contract is up by less than 0.1%, while the Nasdaq is up by 0.7%, heralding a green start to the session.

For the week as a whole, marked in particular by the confirmation of a reawakening of inflationary tensions with the announcement of a re-acceleration in consumer prices in November, the Dow is currently losing 1.6%.

The Nasdaq fared better, with a symbolic weekly gain of 0.2%, thanks in particular to the strong performance of Tesla, which has hit new all-time highs in recent days.

The real star of the week, the heavily technology-weighted index managed to climb above the psychological threshold of 20,000 points for the first time in its history on Wednesday.

The strength of technology stocks should be confirmed today by the good results of chipmaker Broadcom, whose share price is set to jump 19% at the opening.

On the occasion of the publication of its results on Thursday evening, the group also announced an 11% increase in its quarterly dividend, decided by its Board of Directors, to $0.59 per share, marking its 14th consecutive year of increases.

After a 32% gain for the Nasdaq this year, however, buyers seem to have started to tire in recent sessions, and are increasingly tempted to take profits with the arrival of the new fiscal year 2025.

The prospect of the US Federal Reserve's last meeting of the year next week also seems to be prompting investors to exercise caution.

According to CME's FedWatch tool, traders now consider there to be a 96% chance of another rate cut next Wednesday.

On the economic front, import prices rose by 0.1% in November compared with the previous month, according to the Labor Department, while export prices stagnated.

On a rolling 12-month basis, US import and export prices rose by 1.3% (+2.3% excluding fuel) and 0.8% (+1.2% excluding agricultural commodities) respectively last month.
