The mood brightened on Piazza Affari and other European stock markets following stronger-than-expected U.S. labor market data, buoyed further by accelerating futures on Wall Street indices.
U.S. nonfarm payrolls increased by 139,000 in May, surpassing forecasts which had anticipated 130,000 new jobs.
Around 15:20 local time, the Ftse Mib index was up 0.35%, recovering after a largely flat morning session.
Banks led the gains, with Intesa Sanpaolo advancing by 0.9%.
Recordati remained lively, rising 2.4% after JP Morgan raised its target price from 65 to 67 euros.
Profit-taking continued on Leonardo shares.
