GERMANY: - PROFIT TAKING - After the price recovery of the previous days, the DAX is showing signs of profit taking in the middle of the week. Broker IG valued the leading German index a good two hours before the Xetra start 0.49 percent lower at 18,466 points. Data from the USA caused selling pressure. The quarterly figures presented by e-vehicle manufacturer Tesla and Google parent company Alphabet the previous evening after the New York stock exchange close did not spark enthusiasm among investors. In Germany, the reporting season is now also picking up. Deutsche Bank's quarterly results will be in the spotlight this Wednesday.

USA: - SLIGHTLY WEAKER - After a strong start to the week, investors on the US stock markets acted cautiously on Tuesday. The most important indices fell slightly. Attention shifted from politics to the reporting season for technology companies, which is about to pick up speed. After the close of trading, tech heavyweights Tesla and Alphabet reported on their business performance in the past quarter. The Dow Jones Industrial benchmark index closed down 0.14% at 40,358.09 points.

ASIA: - SHARE PRICE LOSSES - The most important stock markets in Asia fell on Wednesday. The quarterly figures presented by e-vehicle manufacturer Tesla and Google parent Alphabet after the US stock market close did not spark enthusiasm among investors. The Japanese Nikkei 225 fell 1.1 percent in late trading. The Hang Seng Index of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region recently lost 0.6 percent and the CSI 300 with the 300 most important shares on the Chinese mainland stock exchanges fell by 0.1 percent.
