The Dax is expected to open little changed on Wednesday according to the price trend on the futures markets.

On Tuesday, it closed down 0.2 percent at 19,421 points. Stock markets in Europe were unable to maintain their gains after strong figures from software giant SAP.

Deutsche Bank is in the spotlight at midweek. After a slip in the second quarter, the bank has once again posted a profit in the billions. In addition, the Cologne Higher Regional Court will decide on Wednesday in the long-running legal dispute as to what additional compensation Postbank shareholders should receive from Deutsche Bank.

In the USA, the balance sheet season continues to gather pace. Tesla, Boeing and T-Mobile are among those presenting their figures.
