FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - After a weak start to the week on the stock exchange, there was not much for the optimists on the market on Wednesday either. In the first few minutes of trading, the Dax was treading water at 19,424 points. For the leading index, the round mark of 20,000 points thus remains within reach. The record from the previous week stands at just under 19,675 points. Deutsche Bank suffered significant losses in the middle of the week following the publication of its third-quarter figures.
The MDax of mid-cap blue chips rose slightly by 0.2 percent to 27,145 points on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, the EuroStoxx 50, the eurozone's leading barometer, barely budged./bek/mis
