MOSCOW, June 7 (Reuters) - The operations of the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia's southern Rostov region were suspended on June 6 after a drone attack, two sources told Reuters on Friday.

The drone attack that resulted in fire on the site happened early on June 6, regional governor Vasily Golubev said on the Telegram messaging app.

Both primary units of the refinery were shut as of Friday, according to the sources.

According to the sources, repair works may take about three weeks.

Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery processed 4.8 million metric tons in 2023. The refinery's respresentative did not answer on Reuters request.
