The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Monday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed.
The loonie was trading 0.4% higher at C$1.41 to the greenback, or 70.92 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.4094 to 1.4175.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 2.6 basis points to 3.007%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.1799%.
U.S. January crude futures rose $1.05 to $68.25 a barrel on Monday.
